Expert Irrigation Repair Service in New London, CT

Common Irrigation System Problems That Require Professional Diagnosis

Irrigation system failures in New London, CT properties often appear deceptively simple but have root causes that are not visible at the surface. A single non-functioning zone, for example, could indicate a failed zone valve solenoid, a wiring short in the control cable, a cracked valve body, a clogged valve port, or a controller programming error. Each cause requires a different repair approach, and misdiagnosing the problem typically results in replacing parts that are not at fault while leaving the actual failure unaddressed. Kelly Landscaping's irrigation technicians are trained to work systematically through the electrical and hydraulic systems to identify the correct cause before any repair work begins.

Head performance issues are the most common irrigation complaint we receive in New London, CT and also the most frequently under-repaired. Many property owners notice a head that is not rotating, spraying at an incorrect angle, or showing low pressure output and assume a simple head replacement will solve the problem. In our experience, head performance issues are as often caused by upstream problems including partially closed isolation valves, pressure regulator failures, mainline debris, and lateral line root intrusion as they are by the heads themselves. Our diagnostic process addresses the full system rather than just the visible point of failure.

Kelly Landscaping maintains comprehensive inventory of parts for all major irrigation system brands including Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, Orbit, and Weathermatic. This inventory means we can complete most common repairs on the initial service visit rather than requiring a return trip for parts. After completing any repair, our technicians run the full system to verify that the fix resolved the issue and that no secondary problems exist elsewhere in the system. We provide a written repair report after every service visit documenting the fault found, parts replaced, and system status at completion.
